Minister of Labour, Colin Jordan, is asking retrenched public sector workers to maintain a positive attitude and take advantage of retraining opportunities that the Barbados Employment and Career Counselling Service  is offering.

Mr. Jordan says this period of unemployment for many is a difficult one and transitioning to this new way of life requires a positive outlook.

His comments came as he addressed retrenched workers at the opening of a series of workshops by the counselling service at the Ministry of Labour, Warrens Office Complex.

He also revealed that government is looking at employment opportunities for retrenched workers outside of Barbados.
