US, Canada issue travel advisories against Dominica
The US State Department and the Canadian Government have issued travel advisories against Dominica.
This is in response to unrest in the country ahead of Friday’s general election.
The protesters, mainly supporters of the opposition United Workers Party, are demanding electoral reforms ahead of the polls.
Two persons were shot and injured by the police Thursday morning in the village of Salisbury during attempts to quell demonstrations by some of the residents. (RJR News Online)
