Relatives of an Orange Hill, St. James man are stunned about his violent death in the early hours of this morning at the hands of his son.

The police say just after 1am they received a report about a dispute in progress between two males and when they arrived they found the body of a 58 year old man.

A medical doctor was summoned to the scene who pronounced the victim dead. He had suffered multiple severe stab wounds.

The suspect, the victim’s 25 year old son, is said to have left the residence and went to another house a short distance away at Dean’s Town, St. James where he stabbed another man who was taken to hospital where he remains in stable condition.

Starcom Network News this morning visited the home where the deceased Cleaphas Maynard lived with his son.

Mr. Maynard’s aunt Monica Callendar described him as a hard working and enterprising man and model father and they were stunned that his son could have killed him in a such a manner.

She spoke about Mr. Maynard’s enterprising nature showing us the array of plants and around the home and his large coy pond.
