Government makes major changes to the estimates debate

Government is making significant changes to how the upcoming estimates debate will be conducted to allow ministers to be grilled by their colleagues about the specifics about how money is to be allocated.

This has been disclosed by Attorney General, Dale Marshall, as he led off debate in the House of Assembly on a resolution to adopt the report of the House’s standing orders committee.

He says it’s part of government’s emphasis on ensuring transparency and accountability and making the Parliament as an institution more relevant to people’s day to day lives.
