Some of this country’s young people are being co-opted in a new Civil Defence Corp- a $20 million initiative announced this afternoon by Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley at the post-cabinet media briefing.

Ms. Mottley says the two-year program will help provide skills and also instill discipline in the young school leavers many of whom can’t find jobs.

It will be called the Barbados Youth Advanced corp within which the Barbados Youth Service will be absorbed.
