President of the Democratic Labour Party, Verla Depeiza, has criticized the Mia Mottley administration over its decision to default on debt.

She was speaking on yesterday’s Down To Brasstacks programme.

Grenville Phillips Junior of Solutions Barbados also criticized the government’s decision to default on its debt, describing the move as alarming.

He said he believed that they were alternatives to the BERT plan.

However, Labour Minister, Colin Jordan warned that there was little alternative to the debt default with the country at risk of running out of foreign exchange.
