Duty-free concessions for the cultural and entertainment sector

The National Cultural Foundation has won praise from two  top event promoters after announcing this afternoon duty-free concessions for the cultural and entertainment sector.

Crop Over Band leaders, entertainers, producers and others classified as cultural practitioners are getting concessions for imported inputs, and government has also removed the requirement to have a tax clearance certificate in order to get a National Cultural Foundation subvention.

Minister of the Creative Economy, Culture and Sports, John King made the announcement at a news conference this afternoon disclosing that it’s been in the works since the new government took office last May but couldn’t be implemented in time for last Crop Over.

And that wasn’t the only concession.

Promoters Freddy Hill of FAS and Rudy Maloney of 4D Entertainment were on hand for the announcement.
