Child hurt in car accident

A five year old girl remains in critical but stable condition at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital following a collision with a police vehicle along Belmont Road, Belleplaine St. Andrew yesterday.
According to police, the child and her mother were walking on their way home from school when the collision occurred.
The infant sustained a fractured right leg, a collapsed lung and head injuries.
Up to late last night, she was said to be in critical but stable condition.
