Barbados Transport Board seeks private sector partner to help them acquire up to 200 electric buses

The state-owned Transport Board says its pressing ahead with its plan to replace its current aged fleet with up to two hundred electric buses overtime and expects to have the first forty of those on the road within a year.

What’s more the board’s acting general manager, Felicia Sue, tells Starcom Network News the board is seeking a private-sector business partner who will essentially buy the new buses and split the revenue with the board.

Ms. Sue expanded on the plan in an interview with Starcom Network News in which she outlined plans for a bidders conference this week.

 

Ms. Sue says the board aims to share the risk by seeking an investment partner.
