From August 1st Barbadians will be able to open foreign currency accounts here at home.

The announcement was made just minutes ago by minister in the ministry of finance Ryan Straughn at a news conference as cabinet met at government headquarters. He says it’s part of efforts to increase private sector and investor confidence.

Meantime, Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley outlined plans for a comprehensive review of the cost of health care with the help of the University of the West Indies with a view to looking at the financing model.
