A $10m expansion of the heavily used accident and emergency department at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) is to commence shortly.

This announcement from Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley who was speaking this morning at Ilaro Court at the launch of a project by two Canadian charities, the Sick-Kids Foundation, and the LesLois shaw Foundation to assist the pediatrics department at the QEH.

Miss Mottley says it’s important that the QEH has adequate equipment and be properly funded.

Miss Mottley stated that millions of dollars in additional funding has been allocated for the QEH and one specific project aims to reduce the death rate from heart attacks.
